Ingredients
- Dough
200 g 6/7 cup Greek Yogurt
500 g 2 cup Lukewarm Milk
210-220 g 1 Seed Oil
900 g 7 1/4 cup All-purpose Flour
14 g 4 1/2 tsp Dry Yeast
1 tbsp 1 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp 2 tsp Salt
- Filling
400 g 14 oz Feta Cheese
150 g 5.3 oz Cream Cheese
80 g 1/3 cup Milk
200 g 2 cup Shredded Melting Cheese Blend
Black Pepper
Thyme
- Brushing
1 1 Egg
A little Water
Sesame Seeds
Recipe directions
- Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, add the sugar and lukewarm milk.
- Mix well.
- Add the dry yeast, corn oil, yogurt, all-purpose flour, and salt.
- Knead well until you have a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.
- Let the dough rest while preparing the filling.
- Prepare the Cheese Filling
- In another bowl, add the milk, cream cheese, and crumbled feta cheese.
- Mix until combined.
- Add black pepper, thyme, and the shredded cheese blend.
- Mix everything together.
- Shape the Cheese Croissants
- Transfer the dough onto your work surface.
- Knead lightly to release the air.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a circle about ½ cm thick.
- Cut each circle into 8 equal triangles.
- Slightly stretch each triangle with your fingers.
- Add one spoonful of cheese filling to the wide edge.
- Roll the dough to create a croissant shape.
- Transfer the pastries onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake
- Beat the egg with a small amount of water.
- Brush the surface of the pastries.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) using conventional top and bottom heat for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.
