Ingredients

  • Dough
  • 600 g 4 cup All-purpose Flour

  • 20 g 3 tsp Baking Powder

  • 200 g 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese (or another hard cheese)

  • 230 g 1 cup Corn Oil

  • 250 g 1 cup Milk

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black Pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Smoked Paprika

  • For Brushing
  • 1 1 Egg

  • 30 ml 2 tbsp Water

  • Sesame Seeds for sprinkling

How to make Cheese Crackers

  • Prepare the Dough
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, corn oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the grated Parmesan cheese and mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients while continuously mixing.
  • Knead for about 30 seconds, until a smooth dough forms that no longer sticks to your hands.
  • Allow the dough to rest for 15 minutes.
  • Shape the Crackers
  • Take a handful of dough and roll it into a thick rope.
  • Cut the rope into pieces according to your preferred cracker size.
  • Arrange the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Egg Wash
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
  • Brush the surface of the crackers with the egg wash.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) using conventional top and bottom heat, placing the tray on the middle rack.
  • Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Optional Extra-Crispy Version
  • Allow the crackers to cool completely.
  • Return all the crackers to a baking tray.
  • Bake again at 265°F (130°C) with fan-assisted heat for 30–40 minutes.
  • Cool completely before storing.
