  • For the Cake
  • 400 g Sugar

  • 100 g Sunflower oil

  • 400 g Water

  • 1 pinch Salt

  • 420 g Self raising flour

  • 60 g Cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp Baking soda

  • 150 g Orange juice

  • For the Coating
  • 300 g Vegan Chocolate Couverture

  • 50 g Sunflower oil

Recipe directions

  • For the Cake
  • In a bowl, add sugar, sunflower oil, water, a pinch of salt, and mix well with a whisk.
  • Add cocoa and flour, by sifting them, to the bowl with the other ingredients and mix well.
  • In a container, add the orange juice and pour in the baking soda to activate it. Stir and add it to the bowl with the other ingredients. Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into a 25 cm (10 inches) diameter baking dish, lined with parchment paper and greased.
  • Preheat the oven to 170 C (340 F) and bake for 1 hour.
  • For the Chocolate Topping
  • After the cake is baked and the oven is turned off, in an ovenproof dish, add the dark chocolate broken into small pieces and sunflower oil, and stir a little.
  • Place it in the still-warm oven for a few minutes to melt the chocolate.
  • To Assemble
  • Unmold the cake by turning the baking dish upside down onto a platter and remove the parchment paper.
  • Pour the melted dark chocolate over the cake and spread it out.
