  • 1 kg 2.2 lb Squid (cleaned and sliced into rings)

  • 250 g 8.8 oz Corn Flour (cornmeal)

  • 1 liter 33.8 fl oz Vegetable Oil (for frying)

  • For Garnish
  • Salt, to taste

  • Fresh Lemon Wedges

How to make Fried Calamari

  • Preparation
  • Clean the squid and cut it into rings. (Check the video for the proper cleaning method.)
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pot until it reaches a high temperature.
  • Breading & Frying
  • In a shallow dish or bowl, combine cornmeal with a pinch of salt and mix well.
  • Coat a few squid rings at a time in the mixture, ensuring they are evenly covered.
  • Carefully drop the coated rings into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining squid rings.
  • Serving
