Ingredients

  • For the Dough
  • 300 g 2 1/2 All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 pinch 1 pinch Baking Powder

  • 1 pinch 1 pinch Salt

  • 80 g 1/3 cup Sugar

  • 180 g 6 oz Butter, cold

  • 1 large 1 large Egg

  • 1 1 Vanilla Capsule

  • For the Filling
  • 3 large 3 large Apples

  • 400-500 g 1 1/2 – 2 Apple Jam

  • For Topping
  • Ground Cinnamon

  • Brown Sugar

How to make Apple Tart

  • In a stand mixer bowl, combine sugar, egg, cold butter, vanilla, salt, flour, and baking powder.
  • Mix on low speed with the paddle attachment until a firm dough forms.
  • If the dough crumbles, add 1–2 tbsp water.
  • Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for a few minutes.
  • In a bowl with water, add juice from half a lemon.
  • Peel, core, and slice the apples thinly. Place in the lemon water to prevent browning.
  • Press the chilled dough evenly into a 27–28 cm (10–11 inch) tart pan.
  • Spread apple jam evenly over the base.
  • Drain the apple slices and arrange them neatly on top.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) (static heat) for 50 minutes, until golden and aromatic.
