Ingredients

  • For the Pasta
  • 250 g 8.8 oz Cannelloni

  • 500 g 17.6 oz Semi Hard Cheese

  • For the Ground Beef
  • 1 kg 2 lb Ground beef

  • 1 1 Onion

  • 3 3 Garlic cloves

  • 70 g 2.5 oz Olive oil

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Paprika

  • Salt and Pepper

  • 1/2 bunch 1/2 bunch Parsley

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Sugar

  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp Tomato paste

  • For the Sauce
  • 1 1 Onion

  • 2 2 Garlic cloves

  • 70 g 2.5 oz Olive oil

  • Salt and Pepper

  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp Tomato paste

  • 1/2 bunch 1/2 bunch Parsley

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Sugar

  • 200 g 7.1 oz Tomato sauce

  • 1 glass 1 glass Water

Recipe directions

  • Making the Ground Beef
  • Place a frying pan over heat. Add the olive oil, onion (finely chopped), garlic (finely chopped) and sauté.
  • Add the sugar and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Next, add the ground beef and sauté. Season with salt, pepper and paprika and stir.
  • Add the parsley (finely chopped), tomato paste and stir. Continue sautéing until most of the moisture evaporates.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Making the Sauce
  • Place a pot over heat. Add the olive oil, garlic (finely chopped), onion (finely chopped) and sauté until golden.
  • Add the sugar, parsley (finely chopped), tomato paste and sauté. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the tomato sauce, water and stir. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and set aside.
  • To assemble
  • Fill the cannelloni with the meat mixture and arrange them in the baking dish. If there is any leftover meat mixture, pour it over the cannelloni.
  • Next, pour the sauce over the cannelloni.
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 C (355 F).
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  • Allow it to cool for a bit and then serve.
