Ingredients

  • 600 g 4 4/5 cup All-purpose Flour

  • 375 g 1 3/5 cup Lukewarm Water

  • 7 g 2 1/4 tsp Dry Yeast

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Sugar

  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp Olive Oil or Sunflower Oil

  • 200 g 1 1/2 cup Olives, sliced

  • For Brushing
  • 120 ml 1/2 cup Warm Water

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Sugar

  • Sesame Seeds

How to make Vegan Olive Bread

  • In a large bowl, add the water, sugar, salt, olive oil, and yeast and mix lightly.
  • Gradually add the flour while mixing.
  • Knead for about 3 minutes until the ingredients are combined.
  • Shape the dough into a ball, lightly oil the bowl, place the dough inside, cover with a towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 30 minutes until doubled in size.
  • Knead lightly to deflate the dough.
  • Divide into 12 pieces.
  • Roll each piece on a floured surface and spread some sliced olives on top.
  • Fold the dough to enclose the olives and shape into a ball.
  • Grease a baking tray and place the dough balls inside.
  • Let them rise again for about 25 minutes.
  • Mix the water with sugar and brush the rolls.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C / 390°F (top and bottom heat) for about 25 minutes.
