  • Pepper

  • 1 Egg

  • 500 g Slices of bacon

  • 5 Boiled Eggs

  • For the Potatoes
  • 1 kg Potatoes

  • 2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 Onion, finely chopped

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Paprika

  • 50 g Olive Oil

  • 1/2 glass Warm Water

  • Juice of 1 Lemon

Recipe directions

  • Preparing the Meatloaf
  • In a bowl, add ground beef, soaked bread, olive oil, grated onions, parsley, grated garlic, vinegar, grated cheese, thyme, salt, pepper, paprika, and one egg. Knead well to combine the ingredients.
  • Place the bowl in the refrigerator while preparing the potatoes.
  • For the Potatoes
  • Peel the potatoes and cut them into large pieces.
  • Place them in a baking tray. Optionally add finely chopped garlic, finely chopped onion, oregano, salt, pepper, paprika, olive oil, juice from one lemon, a little warm water, and mix.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (390 F) and bake the potatoes for two hours.
  • For the Meatloaf
  • In a rectangular loaf pan, line with parchment paper that overhangs the edges of the pan. Place bacon slices vertically, one by one, around the pan.
  • Remove the beef mixture from the refrigerator, place half of it in the pan, and spread. Press the mixture firmly with a spatula.
  • Lay the boiled eggs horizontally over the beef mixture. Spread the remaining beef mixture on top. Press lightly with a spatula and fold the bacon over. Finally, fold the overhanging parchment paper to cover the pan.
  • Bake for two hours at 200 degrees Celsius (390 F).
  • Serve the meatloaf on a platter surrounded by the potatoes.
Note: Fats may drip from the loaf pan. To avoid soiling your oven, it is advisable to place the loaf pan inside the tray with the potatoes.
