Known for its distinct Mediterranean taste and airy texture, Greek bread is a delicious accompaniment to any meal. With just a handful of simple ingredients like flour, yeast, olive oil, and honey, you can recreate the authentic flavors of Greek cuisine right in your own home.

How to make Greek bread

To make this Greek bread, start by activating the yeast in warm water. Then, combine the yeast mixture with flour, sugar, olive oil, salt. Knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic, allowing it to rise in a warm place until it doubles in size. Once the dough has risen, shape it into a round loaf and make diagonal slashes on the surface. These slashes not only add visual appeal but also help the bread expand while baking.

How to bake the Greek Bread

Bake the Greek bread in a pot, in a preheated oven until it turns a beautiful golden brown and gives off a tempting aroma. The result is a crusty exterior and a soft, chewy interior. Serve this bread alongside your favorite Greek dishes, such as tzatziki, hummus, or Greek salad, for a complete Mediterranean feast. With its authentic flavors and rustic charm, this Greek bread recipe will transport you straight to the picturesque streets of Greece.
