Ingredients

  • For the Syrup
  • 400 g Sugar

  • 200 g Water

  • 400 g Orange juice

  • 1 Orange zest of one Orange

  • Juice of half a lemon

  • 1 Cinnamon stick

  • For the Orange Pie
  • 450 g Phyllo dough sheets

  • 5 eggs

  • 200 g Greek Yoghurt

  • 250 g Margarine, melted

  • 200 g Orange marmalade

  • 20 g Baking powder

  • 100 g Sugar

  • 2 Vanillin vials

  • 2 Orange zest of two oranges

  • 1 pinch Salt

Recipe directions

  • Making the syrup
  • In a pot add the orange juice, water, sugar, the lemon juice, orange zest of one orange and the cinnamon stick.
  • Put the pot on heat and boil for 6 minutes.
  • Making the orange pie
  • Cut the phyllo dough sheets into pieces. Separate the dough sheets and lay them into a big pan.
  • Preheat the oven at 250 F (120 C) and bake on air for 10-15 minutes.
  • In a pan of 14×10 inches (37x25cm) spread some margarine with a brush.
  • In a bowl, add the remaining margarine, sugar and mix.
  • Add the eggs, yoghurt and mix.
  • Add the orange zest, baking powder, vanillin, a pinch of salt, the marmalade and mix.
  • Incorporate the baked phyllo dough sheets into the cream.
  • Pour the mixture into the pan.
  • Preheat the oven at 340 F (170 C) and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Pour the cold syrup on the hot orange pie.
