Crafting the Perfect Rice Base for Rizogalo

Boiling the Rice

Begin by boiling Carolina rice with water and a pinch of salt. This step is crucial for achieving the pudding’s foundational texture.

Adding Milk and Sweeteners

Gradually add milk to the cooked rice, along with sugar and honey, to infuse sweetness and creaminess into the base of your rice pudding.

Achieving the Perfect Consistency

Incorporating Corn Starch

Mix corn starch with a portion of milk and then blend it into the pot. Continuous stirring is key to avoiding lumps and ensuring a smooth, thick consistency.

Finalizing the Mixture

After thickening, remove the pot from the heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract, enriching the rice pudding with additional flavor and a velvety texture.

Adding the Finishing Touches to Your Rizogalo

Enhancing Flavor with Butter and Vanilla

The addition of butter and vanilla extract rounds off the flavors, making the rice pudding irresistibly rich and aromatic.
