Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg 1/2 Potatoes (5-6 large)

  • 100 g 100 Milk

  • 200 g 200 Mozzarella, grated

  • 200 g 200 Ham, cubed

  • 1 tbsp 1 Smoked Paprika

  • 100 g 100 Butter (divided in half)

  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

How to make the Ham and Cheese Pie

  • Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Blend in a food processor until smooth (or mash well).
  • Transfer to a large bowl. Add milk, mozzarella, ham, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well with a spatula.
  • Butter a 25×35 cm baking dish and spread mixture evenly.
  • Cut half the butter (50 g) into cubes and scatter over the top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C / 390°F (bottom/top heat) for 40 minutes until golden.
  • Remove from oven. Cut the remaining butter into cubes, make shallow cuts around the edges, and distribute butter pieces so they melt to the bottom.
  • Return to oven and bake for another 20–25 minutes until edges are browned and crispy.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
