Ingredients

  • 600 g 4 cup All-purpose Flour

  • 250 g 1 cup Lukewarm Milk

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Sugar

  • 10 g 3 1/2 tsp Dry Yeast

  • 2 tsp 2 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Dried Thyme

  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp Vinegar

  • 150 g 10.5 tbsp Butter (for the Dough)

  • 100 g 7 tbsp Butter (for brushing)

  • 1/2 bunch 1/2 bunch Fresh Parsley, finely chopped

  • 3 3 Garlic Cloves, grated

  • 400 g 14 oz Shredded Melting Cheese

  • Sesame Seeds, for sprinkling (optional)

How to make Garlic Bread

  • In a bowl, add the sugar, milk, and yeast. Stir well until the yeast dissolves.
  • Sift the flour into the bowl, add the salt and thyme, and mix.
  • Add the butter and knead until you have a smooth dough that does not stick to your hands.
  • Form the dough into a ball and score a cross on top. Place it in a bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, until doubled in size.
  • In a small bowl, melt the 100 g butter and grate the garlic into it. Add the chopped parsley and mix.
  • Lightly knead the dough to deflate it and divide it into two equal portions.
  • Roll out the first portion on a floured surface. Grease a baking pan and transfer the dough into it.
  • Spread a layer of shredded cheese over the dough.
  • Roll out the second portion of dough and place it over the cheese. Press the edges to seal.
  • Using a skewer or toothpick, poke small holes across the surface.
  • Let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
  • Score the surface into small squares.
  • Pour the garlicโ€“butter mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Add a second layer of shredded cheese on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350ยฐF (180ยฐC), conventional heat, for 30โ€“35 minutes, until golden and fully baked.
